Etowah Valley Sporting Clays - Dawsonville, GA
Our park is a unique experience for the outdoor person who has an interest in shotgun shooting. Sporting clays is a form of shooting clay targets which are airborne in many formats, often described as "golf with a shotgun". Our two courses consist of 14 different shooting stations. Unlike skeet and trap, each sporting clays station will provide the challenge of two different target presentations. This simulates a hunt situation using targets, incoming and out going birds, crossing targets and rabbits to name a few. The courses are laid out over the natural setting of the Dawson County foot hills. While you may walk most of the courses, many shooters prefer to use one of our golf carts.
At Etowah Valley Sporting Clays you will find everything you need to have an exciting experience of shooting sporting clays. The Pro Shop has Beretta guns for sale or for rent, a wide selection of ammunition, shooting glasses, ear protection and a full line of shooting clothing. You don’t have to worry about whether you have what you need; it is all waiting on you.
In addition to the two main courses, you will find other options to enjoy on your visit. There is a Five Stand for warm up or the short green course for practice. Etowah Valley Sporting Clays has instructors available to help you get started or maybe you need a little adjustment on your skills. If you have three hours or thirty minutes, you can experience “golf with a shotgun” by shooting sporting clays.
Also located on the premises is a 3D Archery Course. The targets range from black bears, wild boars, turkeys, deer, etc. This is a gentle walking course in the woods. Unlike the sporting clays, you must bring your equipment for archery.
Do you want something a little more challenging; try our “Clays and Feathers” package. You will warm up with 50 targets of sporting clays, lunch with a guide, followed by an Upland Bird Hunting experience provide by our sister company Etowah Valley Game Preserve.
The 3,400 square foot Amish-Style lodge is a year round facility, great for resting between rounds of clays or for hosting a special function. The beautiful building was built in the summer of 2005 by hand. The natural wooden beams, chiseled joints and rustic stone fireplace makes for a unique back drop for events, meetings, weddings, conferences and gatherings. The lodge has a full kitchen, gas grills and seating for 100. The park is open Thursday – Sunday 9AM – 5PM and is available by reservation for other days of the week.
The location of the park is convenient to GA 400, the Premium Outlet Malls and historic Dawsonville. We are located at 619 Sporting Hill Drive, Dawsonville. From North on GA 400, at the Premium Outlet Mall turn left on Dawson Forest, right on HWY 9, past mile marker 3 Sporting Hill Drive is on your left.
