What Is the Clays & Feathers Package?
Instead of choosing between a morning on the sporting clays course and an afternoon bird hunt, why not do both?
Clays & Feathers brings the two experiences together in one full-day package.
Your day begins at Etowah Valley Sporting Clays, where you’ll warm up with at least 50 clay targets while making your way around the sporting clays course.
After your morning round, you’ll enjoy lunch with your guide before heading to Etowah Valley Game Preserve for the second half of the experience: a guided afternoon bird hunt.
When the hunt is complete, professional bird-cleaning services are available so you can take your game home.
Itβs a full North Georgia outdoor experience from the first clay of the morning to the final retrieve of the afternoon.
Your Clays & Feathers Day
Morning: Start With Sporting Clays
Thereβs a reason we start with clays.
The morning gives you an opportunity to settle in, warm up, and spend time with your group before heading into the field.
Your sporting clays experience includes:
- At least 50 clay targets
- A clays cart
- Access to the sporting clays course
- Guidance and assistance from the EVSC team
- A fun warm-up before the afternoon hunt
Newer to sporting clays? Don’t let that stop you. Our team can help answer questions and get you comfortable before heading onto the course.
Midday: Lunch With Your Guide
After the morning round, slow things down and enjoy lunch with your guide.
It’s a chance to relax, talk about the morning, and prepare for the afternoon ahead.
Then it’s time to trade clays for feathers.
Afternoon: Head to Etowah Valley Game Preserve
After lunch, your guide will escort your group to the hunt area at Etowah Valley Game Preserve.
You’ll spend the afternoon enjoying a guided bird-hunting experience in the North Georgia outdoors, including the opportunity to hunt and retrieve game.
Once the hunt wraps up, professional bird-cleaning services are available so your group can bring its game home.
Morning on the course. Afternoon in the field. That’s Clays & Feathers.
Who Is Clays & Feathers For?
You don’t have to be a lifelong sporting clays enthusiast or experienced hunter to enjoy the day.
Clays & Feathers can be a great fit for:
- Friends & Annual Traditions
Turn the start of bird season into the reason everyone finally gets a date on the calendar. - Families
Spend a full day outdoors together and create a tradition that can be enjoyed year after year. - Corporate & Client Outings
Skip another dinner or conference room. Clays & Feathers gives clients, colleagues, and leadership teams an opportunity to connect through a shared experience. - Experienced Outdoorsmen
Start with clays in the morning before putting those skills to work during an afternoon in the field. - Newer Participants
You don’t need years of experience to inquire about the package. Let our team know your group’s experience level when planning your day so we can help you understand what to expect.
Why October Is Just the Beginning
When October arrives in North Georgia, so does one of our favorite times of year.
Cooler mornings, changing leaves, time outdoors, and the return of Clays & Feathers season make fall an ideal time to plan a day at Etowah Valley.
Because this is a seasonal experience, we recommend planning ahead, particularly if you’re coordinating multiple schedules or organizing a corporate or larger group outing.
If there’s a particular date you have in mind, don’t wait until everyone’s calendar fills up.
Make It a Group or Corporate Experience
Clays & Feathers works especially well when the goal isn’t simply getting everyone together, but giving them something they’ll actually remember doing together.
For larger groups and events, ask our team about the EVSC Pavilion, Lodge, and available event options.
That makes Clays & Feathers worth considering for:
- Client appreciation events
- Corporate outings
- Leadership groups
- Employee or team celebrations
- Family gatherings
- Friend groups and annual traditions
Instead of another outing everyone has done before, give the group an entire day to talk about afterward.
