At Etowah Valley Sporting Clays, we believe the best days are the ones shared with friends—especially the four-legged kind. Whether they’re trotting alongside you on the trail, offering moral support at every station, or relaxing in the shade near the pavilion, our canine companions make every visit just a little more special.
We’re proud to be a dog-friendly destination, and we welcome well-behaved pups to enjoy the day with you. But before you load up the car and head our way, here’s everything you need to know to ensure a fun, safe, and memorable visit for everyone—including your furry family members.
🐾 Dog-Friendly Guidelines for a Safe and Enjoyable Visit
While we love seeing wagging tails and happy faces, safety and comfort for all guests—human and canine—are our top priority. To keep the experience enjoyable for everyone, we ask that dog owners follow these simple guidelines:
✅ Leashes Are Required at All Times
For the safety of your dog, other guests, and our wildlife, please keep your dog leashed at all times while on the property. This helps prevent any unexpected encounters and keeps our course calm and controlled.
✅ Bring Dogs Who Are Comfortable Around Loud Sounds
Our course is lively, and loud sounds are part of the sporting clays experience. Only bring dogs who are comfortable and desensitized to these noises. If your dog is easily startled or anxious around loud sounds, it’s best to leave them in a comfortable, quiet space at home.
✅ Bring the Essentials for Their Comfort
Make sure your pup stays hydrated and happy throughout the day. We recommend packing:
- Fresh water and a portable water bowl
- Treats to reward good behavior (and keep them smiling!)
- Waste bags—please help us keep the grounds clean for everyone
- We have shaded areas and seating where you and your pup can take breaks between rounds.
✅ Be Mindful of Heat and Terrain
North Georgia’s beautiful landscapes mean plenty of open space—but also warm temperatures and varied terrain. Keep an eye on your dog’s paws and energy levels, and make use of shaded spots for rest throughout the day.
📅 Planning a Dog-Friendly Day at Etowah Valley
If you’re thinking of bringing your dog along for a day at Etowah Valley, here are a few tips to make the most of it:
- Arrive Early to Beat the Heat: Mornings are cooler and more comfortable for longer walks.
- Explore the Pavilion Area: Perfect for breaks in the shade while staying close to the action.
- Take Frequent Breaks: Remember, dogs might not have the same stamina for a full day of walking—plan rest stops between stations.
- Capture the Moment: Some of our favorite memories come from the candid photos of pups relaxing by the lodge or curiously watching the action at a distance.
Just be warned—if you bring them once, they’ll expect to come back every weekend! 😉
