While every range may have specific policies, some safety standards are universal across the sport. At EVSC, we follow established safety practices designed to protect our guests, staff, and the integrity of the experience.

Only load your shotgun at the station window—never walk the course with a loaded firearm.
Always point your firearm downrange, and never toward another guest or outside the station window.
Limit loads to two shells per round to maintain control and consistency.
Eye and ear protection is required at all times—even for observers or those waiting their turn.
Follow all posted range rules and check with staff if you’re unsure about acceptable ammunition or gun types.
By practicing safe handling and staying alert, you help ensure everyone’s visit is both secure and enjoyable.

Use shell catchers on semi-automatic shotguns, and be mindful when ejecting spent shells to avoid hitting guests nearby.
Come prepared with your protective gear, enough ammunition, and any accessories you’ll need for the full round—this helps minimize interruptions and keeps groups moving efficiently. We also have these available at the lodge if you run out, forget, or need more of something.
